When Doug and David learned more about how Eat The Frog was different from other studio models; from the equipment and technology to one-on-one member support, they knew that this was the best franchise opportunity and they wanted to be a part of it.

Eat The Frog Fitness is expanding in North Carolina again. With the addition of David Allen and Doug Bell, long-time business partners and our newest Franchisees, this will be the third Eat The Frog Fitness location in the Charlotte, NC area.

Doug and David are Charlotte natives who have known each other since they were kids. Having spent years partnering in different business ventures, most recently in the hospitality/restaurant world, they were ready for their next adventure. Doug developed a passion for fitness after experiencing the impact that small group fitness had on his life. He was inspired to bring this style of training to his local community.

What sealed the deal for Doug and David was meeting with Co-Founder and Olympic Gold Medalist Bryan Clay. His passion for the brand and continuing to create world-class programming set Eat The Frog Fitness apart. After learning more about how Eat The Frog was different from other studio models; from the equipment and technology to one-on-one member support, they knew that this was the best franchise opportunity and they wanted to be a part of it.

Through speaking with Bryan, meeting the Home Office team, and coming to Eat The Frog's studio location in Covington, WA, he saw the extraordinary level of support and personal attention provided for all the studios in the network. Everyone at the studio had a sense of pride that radiated from them about their impact on the community.

Unlike many studios in the Charlotte area, they wanted to appeal to more than just the younger demographic. After attending an Eat The Frog Fitness training session and seeing the wide range of ages and fitness levels, it was clear that the programming was easily personalized for the individual.

Doug knew Eat The Frog was the answer, saying, "after looking into the franchise more, there were two standout reasons that we chose Eat The Frog over other fitness studios in the area. One, it appeals to a wide range of demographics. The programming isn't targeted at one specific age group or fitness level and is modified for each person. And second, it is low-impact and easily adaptable. It is built for longevity and to avoid injury to the member base".

High praise coming from Doug, who has spent over 30 years managing businesses across the hospitality/restaurant, financial, and textile sectors. He knows a good business plan when he sees one.

When Doug isn't working, you can find him outdoors. He is an avid outdoor adventurer with a passion for skiing and backpacking. He is married to his wife Beth, and they have two sons, Doug and Freeman. Doug shared that he finds joy in cultivating leaders and helping others be their best, most independent selves.

His business partner, David, also grew up in Charlotte, NC. Over the years, he has founded and managed businesses in the construction/real estate, retail, financial, hospitality, and restaurant sectors. When he is not overseeing his business ventures, David spends time with his wife Elizabeth, enjoying the beach, traveling to visit their two children (David Jr. and Lambeth), and seeking new adventures.

When asked what most excited them about opening an Eat The Frog Fitness studio, they said, "we're excited to create a great experience for our members. Coming from the restaurant industry, customer service is so important to success - something you don't always find in other industries. We can't wait to help build a community in Charlotte and provide a great experience and great service!"

We are thrilled to expand our franchise network in North Carolina. We can't wait for Doug and David to bring the #FrogSquad to their local community. Keep an eye out for the newest Eat The Frog Fitness to hit Charlotte in early 2022.
